Vienna is very commonly associated with decadent imperialism, with its history dating back to the 13th century. So of course, when we travelled to Vienna we wanted to immerse ourselves in the traditional Viennese experience. Park Hyatt Vienna is a modern yet traditional hotel located in a former 20th century bank complex. There were a number of reasons why we chose Park Hyatt Vienna as our hotel in Vienna.
- Central – within walking distance from the imperial palaces, famous sights, historic monuments and museums
- Top 10 hotels in Vienna on TripAdvisor, more than 1000+ positive reviews
- Modern luxury
When we arrived at the Park Hyatt Vienna hotel, we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, Kim, who checked us in and kindly showed us to our room on the second floor.
Upon entering the room we were met with a gorgeous marble entrance with high ceilings leading into the main room with the bedroom and lounge. On the left-hand side of the hallway there was a very neat walk-in closet with a safe, iron, ironing board and another necessary amenities.
The bedroom design was beautiful and symmetrical with mahogany wood and artwork on the wall.
One thing I loved about the lounge was the mirrored wall in front of the bed, which had the TV neatly hidden underneath.
The room also had some great modern features, which were put to good use! We enjoyed the use of their wireless speakers and I really like that the curtains were operated electronically, easily accessible from the bed, which meant that we did not need to get out of bed in the morning! 🙂
The Living Room – Cigar & Whisky Lounge
After a night out enjoying Austrian wine, we returned back to the hotel and decided to try the cigar and whisky lounge, the Living Room. I don’t smoke myself, but my boyfriend loves a good cigar so we took the opportunity to chill in the lounge. He ordered himself a cigar and a glass of whisky for a total of 35 Euros, a decent price for luxury.
The breakfast selection at Park Hyatt is probably the most impressive selection I have seen, catering for everybody. See the photos below for all the different food stations!
I enjoyed a few salami sandwiches, yoghurt with cereals and freshly squeezed organce juice. When the breakfast was finished I wanted to try their traditional Austrian coffee, Melange, so I asked the waiting staff, who were very friendly and attentive, and the coffee arrived within minutes! Great way to finish off the breakfast and to start off our day.
There was also a nice gym downstairs with top notch equipment! I maanged to squeeze in a quick work out in the morning before heading out to explore – I had the gym all to myself! 😊
Park Hyatt Hotel Vienna – Review Summary
Overall, I really enjoyed our stay in Park Hyatt Vienna because we couldn’t fault the service and really enjoyed the modern room facilities in the midst of the traditional architecture. I also had one of the best hotel breakfasts ever, with an endless choice of food and attentive staff. The hotel is located in such a central location, close to all the shops and amenities, and we felt like we got to experience what Vienna had to offer during Christmas with a very relaxing and romantic stay.
